Pipe bends under internal pressure according AD 2000 B1 Appendix 1

B11 module

Fundamentals

Compared with a straight cylinder of the same wall thickness, the stress for pipe elbows is larger inside of bend and smaller outside of bend. Therefore, pipes with variable wall thickness are permitted. In appendix 1 of AD 2000 / B1 there are the equations for calculating the required wall thickness and the resulting stresses.

Program features

The B1.1 module allows you to design pipe bends with variable wall thickness. The radius of curvature can be related to the inside or outside diameter. Furthermore, it is possible to prove elbows with the same wall thickness in accordance with DIN 2605 (3-d) and DIN 2606 (5-d). The required tables are implemented.

Additional calculations according TRD 301, appendix 2 can be performed by using the BOG module.
