Different procedures are available for the determination of equivalent stresses in walls and pressure vessels under consideration of additional forces (WRC, BS 550). Frequently, however, an assessment of the allowable stress is not provided. Furthermore, favorable designs and stress states can be considered during the strength proof. Thus, plastic strain is eventually allowable, using the ultimate load or shake down limit.
The module S3.0 provides the strength proof of pressure vessels on the base of equivalent stresses according to the AD 2000 -Merkblatt / S3.0. It includes a material data base comprising more than 3.300 materials for the determination of the design strength value and the safety factor. For the application of the limit analysis or the shakedown analysis, selection criteria are given.
