Conical shells under internal and external pressure
The diameter of cylinders can be modified by conical shells. Due to the force redirection, the tension increases in the transition zone. The AD-Merkblatt B2 presents test data for this.
The module B2 determines the die-out length and the required wall thickness in the transition zone of cylinders and cones, as well as the necessary wall thickness of the cone shell outside of the die-out range.
