Dished ends (B3)

Dished ends under internal and external pressure

Module B3

Fundamentals:

Dished pressure vessel ends may be of torispherical form, semi-ellipsoidal form or hemispherical form. The crown section or semi-spherical part can be designed according to the AD-Merkblatt B1. The increased stress in the knuckle or the connection of the semi-sphere, respectively, can be considered by a correction factor. Since this factor depends on the wall thickness, an iterative procedure is necessary for the design.

Program features:

The module B3 determines the required wall thickness in the knuckle area and in the crown section area, as well as the necessary skirt height of torispherical ends, semi-ellipsoidal ends or hemispherical ends. For the actual wall thickness, the largest nonreinforced opening is indicated, which requires no additional proof.

Price: 620 EUR plus VAT

Calculations can also be performed with the modules EN 07 and EN 08 of the European Standard EN 13445-3.
