EN17 / EN18 module package

Fatigue life per EN 13445-3 chapter 17 / 18

The EN17 program deals with a simplified assessment of fatigue damage due to pressure fluctuations.

NOTE
The requirements are based on conservative assumptions. More precise, less conservative results will usually be obtained by application of the EN 18 module. This applies also for other cyclic loads, e.g. due to changes in temperature during operation or to variation of external loads.

However it is permitted to take non-pressure cyclic loads into account under consideration of the rules and regulations of the standard.

The EN18 program deals with detailed fatigue assessment of pressure vessels and their components that are subjected to repeated fluctuations of stress.  These fluctuations can be caused by changes in temperature or pressure or by external loads.
Using this calculation method requires knowledge of the structural stresses.

NOTE
Structural stresses can be determined by applying one of the following methods:
Numeric Analysis (e.g. Finite Elements Method), extension measurement or application of form numbers to analytically determined nominal stresses. Reference [2] contains hints for the application of a numeric analysis.

If the cyclic loads show constant amplitude the EN18 module offers a simplified calculation in contrast to AD 2000 Merkblatt S2.

Package price EN17 / EN18: 1.080,-- EUR plus VAT
