AKR module

For product heating or cooling in pressure vessels, besides welded helical coils, jacketed shell are usual. The advantage of the jacketed shell is in the uniform and thereby improved heat transfer. The mechanical calculation, however, is more complicated than for welded-on pipes. The endangered jacket knuckle and primarily the transition from the knuckle to the vessel shell must be subjected to a stress analysis.
The AKR module calculates the stress for the knuckle of a jacketed shell and for the transition to the pressure vessel. The program offers a graphical representaion of the geometric conditions, so that single input and output data can also be presented figuratively.
