Calculation of valve casings according to DIN 3840

3840 module

Fundamentals:

The 3840 module is based on DIN 3840 of September 1982 / draft 1989. We recommend to use the new European Standard EN 12516-2

Program features:

According to DIN 3840, the module calculates+ the operating, testing and installing condition for following components:

• cylindrical bodies without branches
• spherical bodies without branches
• flanges (circular, oval and square types)
• dished ends (semi-ellipsoidal ends and torispherical ends)
• spherical dished covers
• circular plates / circular ring plates for 17 loading cases
• self sealing joints

The predefined boundary conditions are checked during the calculation and occuring exceedings are shown.

The material data base is attached to the 3840 module.

The gasket factors according to table 7 of DIN 3840 can be determined and adopted into calculation forms by the program for flange calculations according to DIN 3840. Furthermore, bolt data with metric thread and with UNC-thread have been attached.
