Fundamentals:

The research into the properties of water and steam was carried out as an international cooperative effort, coordinated by the "International Association for the Properties of Steam" (IAPS).

The IAPS developed suitable mathematical formulations for the industrial application of the thermal and transport properties of water and steam.

• Specific enthalpy
• Specific entropy
• Density
• Specific heat capacity
• Dynamic and kinematic viscosity
• Thermal diffusivity
• Prandtl number
• Surface tension
• Coefficient of thermal expansion

The range of application is from 0,00612 to 1000 bar, and 0,01 to 2000 °C.
