Fundamentals:

The calculations are based on relevant standard manufacturer's formulas for the sizing and specification of control valves.

Program features:

The CAV module is for the sizing and specification of control valves for liquids, gases, and steam. The following process conditions are examined:

• Critical flow conditions
• Laminar flow
• Sub critical flow conditions
• Reduction of the control valve body or trim size
• Liquid or gas-phase flow

It is possible to integrate files containing manufacturer's standard data into the module or to call the files externally.

The CAV module can be used in the ATLAS program system to provide problem solutions as a single module or as a module package, where any modules may be interconnected, for example, with the AD modules or VDI Atlas modules.
