Fundamentals

The calculation of the pressure drop of compressible and incompressible fluids is based on well-known hydraulic and thermodynamic principles. The friction factor is based on the experimental observations of Nikuradse which were put into equation form by Colebrook.

The resistance factors for fittings have been taken from the LV Heat Atlas.
