FundamentalsThe thermal design of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger requires the accurate dimensions of the tubesheet. The configuration of the individual tubes in the shell, the location and size of the segmental and longitudinal baffles, and the location of the tube lanes all affect the thermal design and form the basis for construction.

The SPIE module is a graphic system for the design of shell-and-tube heat exchanger tubesheets. It consists of a graphic and a numerical part. The tubesheet can be composed by the user himself in all details. 30000 tubes can be presented and edited. Tie rods and dummy tubes may be presented and considered as well.
There are two different methods for creating a tubesheet:
You can create tubesheets with 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 tube side passes by default.
The tubesheet is displayed in the program mask. It can be edited and documented. The tubesheet data can be saved to a tubesheet library and then be used in the LV heat exchanger programs WTS, KOND and VERD.
It is also possible to save the tubesheets in DXF format for further use in different CAD programs.
The SPIE module is part of the following programs without any extra charge:
WTS (shell-and-tube heat exchangers), KOND (steam condensers) and VERD (evaporators of pure substances)
→ Strength calculation: Ask for a special price as extension to AD 2000. |
