Design of compressed gas coolers (intercoolers) with water as coolant

Program features

The 'compressed gas cooler' module DGK is an extension module for the AC module package. The main application is the design of intercoolers which cool down compressed gases between two compression steps to the new state at the inlet nozzle.

You can design coolers with a rectangular bundle in a cylindrical shell. The tubes may be bare or finned. Coolant is water.

Not only the cooling of humid air, but also the cooling of humid nitrogen – for example in a dryer circuit with inert gas - can be calculated. The program determines the properties of the superheated gas after the compressor, based on the state of the gas at the inlet nozzle. The heat transfer in the part with condensation and in the part without condensation is calculated separately. The connection is done via the cell method.
